A Practice Built Around
Families at a Difficult Time
Moradok was founded with one clear purpose: to make inheritance matters manageable for families who are already navigating a period of loss.
Back to HomeWho We Are
The Story Behind Moradok
The name Moradok is the Thai word for inheritance — chosen deliberately, because it says plainly what we do. We are a Bangkok-based legal practice with a focused specialism in estate and inheritance matters under Thai law.
The practice was established in 2014 by a small team of lawyers who had observed, through broader legal careers, how families often found themselves without clear, patient guidance at precisely the point they needed it most. Estate administration after a bereavement can involve court applications, land title transfers, document translation, tax considerations, and negotiations among heirs — all while a family is grieving.
We built Moradok to provide a calmer, more considered route through that process. We do not rush clients. We do not use language that requires a law degree to understand. And we are transparent about fees and timelines from the very first conversation.
Over the years we have helped hundreds of families — Thai and international — settle estates of varying complexity, from the straightforward transfer of a single property to multi-asset estates involving heirs in several countries. That range of experience shapes how we approach every new matter: carefully, and without assumptions.
Our Mission
To help families understand and complete inheritance matters in Thailand with as little additional stress as possible — through clear communication, steady support, and practical legal knowledge.
Our Approach
We take each matter at the family's pace. At every stage we explain what is happening and why, so you can make informed decisions without feeling pressured or confused by legal process.
Our Values
Patience, clarity, and discretion. We treat the information families share with us as a private record — handled with the same care we would wish for our own families.

We commit to responding to client enquiries within one working day and to providing plain-language updates at each stage of the process.
Continuing Legal Education
Our lawyers participate in annual continuing legal education programmes to stay current with developments in Thai inheritance law, tax regulations, and court procedure.
Inheritance Law Expertise in Bangkok
Thai inheritance law is governed primarily by Books V and VI of the Civil and Commercial Code, which set out the rules for statutory succession, the requirements for a valid will, and the administration of a deceased person's estate. For families unfamiliar with the legal system, these provisions can feel opaque — particularly at a time when clear thinking is already difficult.
At Moradok, we work across the full range of estate matters that arise under Thai law. These include verifying and registering a will with the district office, applying to the civil court for appointment of an estate administrator, transferring land title deeds at the Land Department, handling bank account and financial asset succession, resolving disagreements between heirs through mediated discussion, and advising on the tax treatment of inherited assets.
Our clients include Thai nationals settling a parent's or grandparent's estate, foreign nationals who have lived or owned property in Thailand and whose heirs are based overseas, and international families with a mixture of assets in multiple countries. Each situation calls for a different combination of knowledge, patience, and practical co-ordination — and that is where our focused experience proves its worth.
We work from our offices on Witthayu Road in Lumphini, Bangkok, and can accommodate appointments at times that fit around a family's other commitments, including early mornings and Saturdays. Remote consultations are available for those based outside Bangkok or overseas.
